Ways for individuals to get involved

There are many ways that you can be involved, from helping us to launch our projects to participating in them once they have begun:

  • We are currently improving and promoting the Solution Exchange, and we need your input. Please register and try it out, letting us know what you think, either on the Feedback page of our Open Forum, or via email.
  • If you don't want to participate in the Solution Exchange, but are interested in participating in any of our other projects, send us your email address so we can keep in touch with you. We are planning to launch the the Dialogue Network for Action (DNA) once the Solution Exchange has gotten established, and our other projects sometime after that. We will keep you posted.
  • We are now approaching experienced leaders of all political persuasions who might be interested enough in the Solution Exchange and DNA projects to join our Board of Advisors. If there is anyone that you think we should contact, please let us know. Our advisors will be asked to look at our plans and materials as they evolve, and give us feedback and guidance. They will also be asked to help us make contact with activist organizations that they think might be interested in the program. We will welcome whatever other participation in the project our advisors are willing to offer.
  • We are also currently contacting organizations that may be interested in co-sponsoring the projects or some aspect of them. We have no desire to create a new and independent organization and would prefer to make these tools available to as many existing activist groups as possible. As a result, we intend to invite a wide range of organizations to become partners in the project. We welcome your suggestions here as well. Send us the names of any organizations you think we should approach and whom to contact in each.

We are in touch with several very large multi-issue groups, and many small ones with a more specific focus. The supporting groups we want to work with include both national and local organizations that are involved with such problems as war and peace, the environment, economic issues, civil liberties, education, and many more. Although we will welcome whatever level of participation each group is willing for, all of them will be invited to become co-sponsors of the Activist Solutions program.

We will ask our sponsoring organizations to get involved in two key ways. In the beginning, we will need them to help us recruit people for the program, by sending their members invitations to participate. Once the project is underway, we will need sponsoring groups to take a leading role in publicizing and lobbying for the proposals that their members were involved in crafting or selecting for further action.

Sponsors will also be asked to customize the invitations they send out to their own membership base. We will also ask them to read and improve or suggest changes to all of our materials. Eventually, we will ask each of our sponsors to appoint a representative to our Board of Advisors.

  • If there are any foundations or other funding sources that you think might be willing to support the project, please send us that information as well.
  • We also need your feedback on the design of this site and your suggestions for improving it. Please post a topic or response on the feedback page of our Open Forum, or contact us with any ideas or suggestions you have to offer, and tell us about any problems you see.

Thank you for your interest. We will be in touch.
