We intend to reach out to very large numbers of individuals and invite them to participate in the program. In addition, we expect to invite a thousand or more large and small activist groups to participate. There are a number of ways that groups such as yours are vital to the success of the three-phase program.

• We need your input. We are currently making a list of potential problem areas that participants can address, and we will ask you to contribute the issues that matter most to your group. For each problem area, we will be putting together a series of background materials for participants to read. There will be an attempt to summarize “the facts” about the problem, as well as to offer analysis and proposed solutions from many different points of view. We will ask you to contribute to these materials, so that your organization’s ideas about the issues that concern you are part of what each participant will consider.
• We need you to help us recruit participants, by telling your membership and your friends about the program. In addition to an initial invitation to your membership, we will ask you to keep them informed of the program’s progress and of ways to get involved.
• When it’s time to take action on the results of the project, your help will be vital to its success. When one or more proposals have gathered enough support, those selected will need to be publicized and a support campaign will need to be launched. Your input and participation is vital in designing and mounting this grassroots effort.
• Most importantly, we will ask for your feedback, suggestions, and advice every step of the way.
