Before posting a solution on the Solution Exchange, participants will choose (or post) a problem that they want to focus on.
They will then write a draft of a summarized solution to that problem. The first 100 words or so will contain a gist of the solution. Authors will have the option to also post a further description of their solution, if the space allowed is not sufficient for them to express their ideas.
A list of national and international issues and specific problems to choose from will be available on the site. The problems on the list will include a wide range of political concerns such as: economic issues and poverty concerns; taxes, inflation, world trade; the war in Iraq and other war and peace problems; nuclear proliferation; global warming and other environmental issues; campaign finance and election reform; improved public schools and problems of higher education; civil liberties and the right to privacy; minority rights; women’s issues; health care; etc.
Participants who want to work with problems not on the list can add a new one to the list.
Proposed solutions to problems (as well as any other user-submitted content) will be removed if they contain endorsements of a political party or candidate, or if they are asking for financial contributions. The author of these posts will be contacted and asked to take out those sections before they are re-posted. In addition, every submitted solution entry must describe an attempt at a solution, rather than a complaint about the dangers of other proposed solutions or criticisms of existing policies.
