We intend to invite large numbers of small, local, single-issue groups and many large multi-issue activist organizations to come and participate in the program. Each organization contacted will be invited to post their own specific solutions to one or more of the problems of concern to them in their areas of interest. All participating organizations will be asked to invite their members to become part of the Solution Exchange and later of the Dialogue Network for Action groups as individuals.
The first step will be to ask organizations that have agreed to participate in either or both projects to send emails to their members that briefly describe the projects and invite them to participate in them as individuals in one or more ways. If the people emailed are interested, the initial contact will direct them to our website. There they will be told how they can get involved in the Solution Exchange, and later with a Dialogue group.
Hopefully, organizations and other participants will join the program because they believe that ongoing political dialogue focused on solutions to problems and a network of small problem solving groups could be valuable to them and to the nation. These will be organizations and individuals concerned with such things as the conditions of our schools, health services, prison reform, civil rights, homelessness, election reform, national and international security, or the impact of the economy on their communities, as well as on the nation and the world, and many others.
Outreach projects to recruit participants will also directly contact bloggers who have posted political solutions to specific problems, and students, teachers, a range of professionals, retired people, and many other potentially interested individuals and organizations. We will also contact and invite representatives of all political parties, their committee heads, their staff, and their candidates the presidency to post solutions to any or all of the issues.
Attempts to recruit activist organizations and thoughtful individuals will be an ongoing process.
Once all of the projects are activated on the website, potential participants will be able to participate in a variety of ways, including: i) Posting a solution on the Solution Exchange; ii) Joining a DNA group; iii) commenting on solutions that have been posted; iv) engaging in the selection process; v) getting involved in some aspect of the action phase; vi) suggesting problems (or aspects of problems) to be listed; vii) any other way they want to be involved in the program.
Each participant will select a username and password, and enter a zip code for future location matching. They will indicate roughly how far from their zip code they would be willing to travel to meet with other participants and how often they expect to be willing to do that. All responders will be asked to specify the days and times that they are available for meetings or for any other activity they would like to join or initiate.
