The online Solution Exchange is the first Activist Solutions project. You can participate in our test of this project here.
This public policy forum will focus exclusively on creating solutions to critical national and international political problems.
Many ordinary as well as extraordinary individuals (of all political persuasions), and a large number of organizations (of all types), will use the Exchange to post their ideas for solutions to the public problems of greatest concern to them. Solutions will be popularly selected for possible implementation. As many participating organizations and individuals as possible will be involved in lobbying for the solutions selected as the best.
The Exchange will reflect the full range of political thinking from the extreme left to the far right and everything in between, relying on the wisdom of the people to choose and join with whatever they think best serves their own and the country’s interests. This increase of bottom-up influence on public policy will spark new motivation for more active grassroots influence on government policy.
- The new site will be a meeting place for individuals and organizations who want to write, read, respond to, and lobby for positive solutions to political problems.
- Relevant background information about each problem will be gathered from many sources, representing different points of view.
- Everyone will be welcome to post a solution or respond to one.
- All readers will be invited to comment on and respond to everything they read.
- Negativity will be discouraged. Contributors will be urged to create and post solutions and responses that are positive, specific, helpful, and understandable.
- Political groups of all sizes, types, and convictions will be invited to contribute their solutions to problems that concern them, and to encourage their members or supporters to do the same.
- Candidates for public office, political bloggers, journalists, union members, students, teachers, parents, retirees, academics, social workers, lawyers, doctors, and other professionals will all be asked to participate.
- Coalitions will form, made up of organizations and individuals who support the same solution. They will be encouraged to find each other, interact, and eventually take joint action.
- Several truly different solutions for each problem are expected to emerge. They will be circulated on public petitions.
- The solutions that gather the most public enthusiasm will be acted upon by the coalitions that support them.
