Find problems and solutions that interest you

There are a number of ways to look for interesting material:

  • Browse through the list of issues in the Solution Exchange, clicking on those that appeal to you to see the problems and solutions posted under them;
  • Review the most recently posted material by clicking on Recent Activity in the menu on the left.
  • Check out the topics posted in the Open Forum.
  • Search for content, either by keyword or by author.

Become a registered user of the site

It's completely free and very quick -- you just have to pick a username and a password at the registration page. As a registered user, you can post your own solution ideas on the site, or comment on what other people have written.

Post your own ideas

  • Submit a new Problem. First, make sure that the Problem that concerns you isn't already listed on the Solution Exchange. To add a problem, click on the "create content" link in the left column menu and then pick "problem" from the list. (If these links aren't visible, it's because you haven't registered yet.) Keep in mind that Problems are supposed to a relatively neutral depiction of "what's wrong" -- if you have ideas about how the Problem you're posting should be solved, submit the Problem first and then put your ideas for addressing it in a Solution.
  • Write a Solution. If you have a Solution to one of the posted Problems, the easiest way to contribute it is to go that Problem's description page. Find listed Problems through the Directory or by doing a Search, as described above in "Find problems and solutions that interest you." If no listed Problem seems appropriate for your Solution, you can write up a new Problem, post it, and then post your Solution to it.
  • Start a conversation (or respond to one) in the Open Forum. You can create a Forum topic that relates to a particular problem or solution by clicking on the "Post a Forum topic in relation to this" link that appears at the bottom of those posts. You can also start a free-standing conversation by clicking on the "Post a new Forum topic" link at the top of the Open Forum page. You can also use the Feedback Forum to post any suggestions, criticisms, or questions about the site.
