I moved most of the dicussion that was originally here into a separate discussion.
One case of police violence that certainly didn't get the media attention it deserves, is the Tiller/Snyder case in Roseland, Indiana 1. Councilman David Snyder was shoved to the ground and repeatedly punched in the face by police officer Tiller while Snyder was *peacefully* leaving the council meeting after the chair asked him to (for no good reason). The charges that had been subsequently brought against David Snyder have been dropped... but curiously no charges have been brought against the offending police officer.
CNN has also reported another case in Ohio where an Officer repeatedly tasered a woman while she was lying on the ground, and later when she was already handcuffed and locked in the patrol car. The CNN report includes an interview with Robert McCrie of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice2. R. McCrie makes it clear that police training is insufficient.
