Labor Unions Have Little Interest In Recruiting New Members

Issue(s): Jobs
Problem description

Labor unions are really huge insurance companies whose major interest is in protecting their current members. They have little if any interest in recruiting new members. The recruitment of new members would actually in some cases work to the disadvantage of the unions because their pie would get smaller rather than larger. It seems counter-intuitive and I can't say I totally understand it. The construction unions don't want more construction workers because they are afraid of competition among workers. There has got to be a way for workers to come together and fight for their rights, better wages and working conditions
