In line with the idea of letting people and/or organizations place their own listings on the Activist Solutions site, the webmaster could create a tab at the top (along with Home, Solution Exchange, About, Contact Us, etc. This tab would be called ORGANIZATIONS.

We have a personal information section available to each registered user on his/her "My account" page. (To fill yours in, click on "My account" in the menu on the left, then on the "edit" tab at the top of your account page, then on the "personal information" tab at the top of the edit page.)

We're asking people to tell us what part of the world they live in, and also to write up something about themselves. The whole section is optional, but we hope people will use it to give us (and each other) a bit more of a sense of who they are.

What do people think of the names we've chosen for the various parts of the site, and for our upcoming projects?

The Solution Exchange is our name for our primary project right now, where people post their solution ideas to a range of public problems.

It was confusing setting up a new account, password etc.
Looks very professional, although a surfer passing through may have difficulty getting the idea of the site on first look.

The site looks good -- it's very easy to navigate and is laid out clearly. I'd like to post a response to the nuclear disarmament and proliferation topic as I think I have something to say about it. I'd also like to post some new topics, like on so-called free trade agreements and their effects on wages, environment, and immigration. I don't know that I can get to it tonight (I just got your message and perused the site)... but I will do it ASAP.

I did notice that the links to the authors of the site aren't yet active in this phrase:

I think you mean that he is the "Program Director" not "Directory."

I think it would be good for people to have the option of having an avatar (small picture) as part of their profile. Whenever they post something anywhere on the site; the avatar would appear. I personally like the idea of seeing a head shot of people with whom I'm communicating. This would also give the site a more personal/interpersonal look and feel which will hopefully facilitate offline as well as online collaboration.
