I live in an apartment that looks out on the ocean.

I love to cook, especially exotic dishes I have never made before.

For as long as I can remember, I have wondered why it's so hard for most people (myself very much included) to interact productively and with pleasure about issues they disagree about (even when the disagreements are very small).

Whatever I post with this username reflects my own participation in this project, as a regular user with his own idiosyncratic opinions.

I also post on this site as the moderator when I think people need administrative guidance or explanations, or if I see trouble brewing of one kind or another. While wearing this moderator hat, I will try to simply manage the dialogue flow on the site, and will do my best not to bring my own issue-related ideas into the mix. Please let me know if you see me mixing up my hats!
