Eileen Claussen is the President of the Pew Center on Global Climate Change and Strategies for the Global Environment.

Prior to this, Ms. Claussen served as the Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs and was a Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Global Environmental Affairs at the National Security Council for three years.

From 1987 to 1993, she was Director of Atmospheric Programs at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She also served as the Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Office of Air and Radiation from 1990 to 1991.

Ms. Claussen is the recipient of the Department of State's Career Achievement Award, the Meritorious Executive Award for Sustained Superior Accomplishment, the Distinguished Executive Award for Sustained Extraordinary Accomplishment — and the Fitzhugh Green Award for Outstanding Contributions to International Environmental Protection.

Ms. Claussen has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts degree from The George Washington University.

Elliot Diringer is Director of International Strategies at the Pew Center on Global Climate Change.

Prior to this, Mr. Diringer was Deputy Assistant to President Clinton and Deputy Press Secretary. He has also served as Senior Policy Advisor and as Director of Communications at the Council on Environmental Quality.

Before joining the White House, Mr. Diringer was a veteran environmental journalist — and a reporter and editor at the San Francisco Chronicle from 1983 to 1997.

He holds a degree in environmental studies from Haverford College. In 1995-96, he was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, where he studied international environmental law and policy.
